It seems my phone is not recognizing me

If you do not hear the 'Raise one hand' instruction, check the following things:

• Make sure you are ca. three steps away from the phone.
• Orient yourself towards the phone.
• The room should not be dark.
• Make sure you are the only person in front of the phone. Affine Tuning works best with only one person in the picture.

How can I use wired speakers when the phone stands upright?

This was excluded from the tutorial for brevity, but you can actually also put your phone in landscape mode. This way you can attach cables to the bottom. Just make sure that the camera is on the right. Because the camera image is not as tall in this orientation, best increase the distance between you and the phone to ca. 4m / 13ft.

How can I use the front camera?

The „Motion Capture“ functionality only works with the rear camera of the phone. This is a technical limitation which I cannot do anything about.

How does this work?

Affine Tuning uses a functionality of your iPhone called "Motion Capture". It was developed by Apple and is basically a very sophisticated algorithm which can make good estimations of the three dimensional pose and position of a persons in front of the camera. This image analysis happens entirely on your phone.

Who can see my camera feed?

Your camera feed is only used to analyse the image, which happens locally on your device. It is not send to anyone else by default. Only if you chose to record your session and show this video to other people, they can see it.

Who can see the detected poses?

No one, this is only used momentarily to influence the music. The pose data is neither stored on your device; nor is it sent anywhere else. It is simply deleted a few seconds after it was calculated.

Can I play together with a friend?

Unfortunately, no. The '"Motion Capture" feature only works for one person at a time.
